Sea turtles are returning to beaches in the south. This year the beaches are quieter, with fewer visitors, so more turtles feel safe enough to lay their eggs.
The turtles usually come at night. They dig nests in the sand and lay their eggs before returning to the sea. Every morning, volunteers walk along the beach, count the new nests, and mark them so people and cars do not damage them.
"Every nest is good news," one volunteer said. Soon, many baby turtles will hatch and make their way to the water.
